Sharon Grant
Sharon Grant is a practicing Dental Therapist (BSc Hons, Manchester 2007) with over 20 years experience in the dental industry. Qualifying as a dental nurse in 1991, she went on to gain post-certification awards in Dental Sedation, Dental Anaesthesia and Dental Radiography. Sharon completed her Certificate in Education in 2004 while teaching the NVQ dental nurse programmes. She also qualified as an NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier. In 2004 she began training as a Dental Therapist on the BSc Oral Health Science programme at the University of Manchester, qualifying with Honours in 2007. She immediately went on to take up a post as a Dental Therapist at a practice in Lancashire.
Sharon has been providing a classroom based National Certificate course since 2004. This course is now also provided online, along with the Certificate in Oral Health Education and she is the personal tutor to our online students. Sharon's area of special interest is dental radiography and she provides all the CPD updates in this subject as well as teaching a successful Certificate in Dental Radiography programme annually. Externally, Sharon is in her final year of a Master's degree in Dental and Maxillo Facial Radiology and is also an integral part of the course team at the University of Central Lancashire where new courses and qualifications for dental care professionals are currently being developed.
Sharon delivers most of the courses herself, but has specialists for the areas of dentistry which require it.

Julia Harvey
Julia qualified as a dental nurse in 1974 and has enjoyed a long career in the industry. Leaving dental nursing in 2001 to become an NVQ assessor, she then went on to become an internal verifier and course co-ordinator for the NVQ 3 Dental Nursing qualification and the Certificate in Oral Health. Julia is responsible for the administration, marketing and enquiries surrounding all our courses.
Sandra Cooper
Sandra Cooper qualified as a dental nurse in 1991 and has since enjoyed a successful and rewarding career centred on practice management and patient orientated healthcare provision. She obtained the Certificate in Oral Health Education in 1999 and provides regular oral health sessions for patients at the dental practice.
Sandra has extensive experience in all aspects of dental practice management including business, finance and legislation, and is relentless in keeping up to date with changes in the dental service industry. She is very well placed to provide our courses on changing legislation and working practices.

Sharon Williams
Sharon Williams is the Sister / Manager of Oral and Facial Surgery for Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust. She qualified from Liverpool as a dental nurse in 1978 and has enjoyed all aspects of dental nursing throughout her career. Post qualifications include Dental Anaesthetics, Sedation Nursing (gaining a distinction for this), Radiography, Certificate in Education, Accredited Advanced Life Support and at the moment is working towards her final year with the BSc (Hons) Education and Professional Studies degree. Her main area of expertise is within anaesthetics and sedation working for Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust since 1979.
Originally the role was within Community Dental Services followed by Hospital Dental Services. Since 2000 her role has become an extended role involving all aspects of management of patients undergoing Oral and Facial surgery with general anaesthetic or intravenous sedation. This has included the setting up of a nurse led pre-operative assessment service and a lead role with the management of the departments sedation service. She also has a tutor role, training hospital dental nurses towards the National Certificate Qualification, along with an in house training programme for the registered dental nurses the Trust employs. Sharon provides our sedation update and medical emergency sessions and basic and advanced life support training.

Sarah Shields
Sarah Shields is a qualified dental nurse and dental radiographer and has an active interest in the dental nurse profession. Sarah is the internal moderator for our National Diploma and Certificate in Dental Radiography programmes having recently completed the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) certificate. She works closely with the course tutors and dental practices to ensure our students complete the practical components of the courses to a high standard. She is based in our Blackpool office and also assists in the administration of all our CPD courses.
